Glenbrook: This enclave sits on the East Shore, halfway between the North and South Shores of Lake Tahoe. With a 9 hole golf course, one of the oldest in the area, a private pier, and buoy field, all part of the Glenbrook HOA. Not many places have all these amenities in one place, making Glenbrook a highly sought-after area. Being on the Nevada side of the lake, a home here can give you residency and lighten your tax burden significantly. Many of the homes in Glenbrook are outside of the HOA and are not bound by the same rules. However, access to amenities is either restricted or comes at a higher price. The East Shore is one of the most undeveloped areas in Tahoe; most of the land is owned by the State of Nevada. What this means for homeowners is that beautiful views and hiking trails are in your backyard.
